Department of Theoretical Ecology

Teaching at the Department

The staff at the department teaches undergraduate ecology at all levels. Our teachers have a special responsibility of introducing and developing quantitative methods and skills in the undergraduate ecology training. Examples of moments brought to the students are the role of theory in ecology, optimization and resource allocation theory, programming, analysis of dynamical systems, and model selection and statistical inference. There is also the opportunity to do a Masters thesis in Theoretical Ecology.

The teachers of the department are primarily involved in the following courses:

  Theoretical Ecology (BIOR30)
  Modelling of Biological Systems (BIOS02)
  Biologiska system (TEK292)
  Experimental Design (BIOS03)
  Ornithology (BIOR51)
  Biology, Introd. Course (TEK290)
  Evolutionary Animal Ecology (BIOR35)
  Philosphy of Science (BIOS01)
  Ecology – Advanced Course (BIOR13)
  Conservation Biology (BIOR37)
  Environmental Monitoring (BIOR39)
Riskanalys inom natur, miljö och hälsa (MVEC12)
  Fisheries Ecology (BIOR27)
  Terrestrial Ecology (EXTA01)
  Miljövetenskapliga metoder (MVE102/MVEC16)
